I created a beautiful blog post and it did not go through. My post was deleted and I am mad. Very mad. I'm trying to avoid cursing.

THIS IS FOR YOU NICK HOOP!

I am going to quote my husband, Stephen Sondheim, for my newest post.
The following quotes are from musicals or from the man himself.

This is all very random.

1. "Art, in itself, is an attempt to bring order out of chaos."
2.
"I really don't want to write a score until the whole show is cast and staged."
3.
"Musicals are, by nature, theatrical, meaning poetic, meaning having to move the audience's imagination and create a suspension of disbelief, by which I mean there's no fourth wall."
4. "Nice is different than good." - Into the Woods
5. "The dumbing down of the country reflects itself on Broadway. The shows get dumber, and the public gets used to them."
6.
"I chose and my world was shaken. So what? The choice may have been mistaken; the choosing was not. You have to move on." - Sunday in the Park with George
7.
"The worst thing you can do is censor yourself as the pencil hits the paper. You must not edit until you get it all on paper. If you can put everything down, stream-of-consciousness, you`ll do yourself a service"
8. Listen to "Losing My Mind" from Follies.
9. Listen to "Finishing the Hat" from Sunday in the Park With George.
10. "One of the hardest things about writing lyrics is to make the lyrics sit on the music in such a way that you're not aware there was a writer there."
11. "Everybody says no stop. Mustn't rock the boat mustn't touch a thing. Everybody says don't. Everybody says wait. Everybody says can't fight city-hall. Can't upset the court. Can't laugh at the king! Well I say try. I say, "Laugh at the King or he'll make you cry. Loose your poise. Fall if you have to but lady make a noise." - Anyone Can Whistle
12. " Green finch and linnet bird, nightingale, blackbird, how is it you sing? Whence comes this melody constantly flowing? Is it rejoicing or merely halloing? Are you discussing or fussing or simply dreaming? Are you crowing? Are you screaming? Ringdove and robinet, is it for wages,
singing to be sold? Have you decided it's safer in cages, singing when you're told?
" - Sweeney Todd
13. "Pretty women, at their mirrors, in their gardens, letter-writing, flower-picking, weather-watching. How they make a man sing! Proof of heaven as you're living, pretty women." - Sweeney Todd
14. "Can you see me? Be you anything from king to baker of cakes. You're a vegetable unless you're free. Such a little word, but oh, the difference it makes! It's the necessary essence of democracy. It's the thing that every slave should have the right to be and I soon will have the right to buy a slave for me. Can you see him? Well, I'll free him!" - A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum
15. Listen to "Not a Day Goes By" from Merrily We Roll Along.
16. "Somebody crowd me with love. Somebody force me to care. Somebody make me come through, I'll always be there, as frightened as you, to help us survive being alive." - Company
17. "Careful the wish you make, wishes are children. Careful the path the take, wishes come true, not free." - Into the Woods
18. "You may know what you need, but to get what you want, better see that you keep what you have." - Into the Woods
19. Listen to Stephen Sondheim music.
20. "White. A blank page or canvas. His favorite. So many possibilities..." -Sunday in the Park with George
